Mid-Sr Level C++ Developers (multiple positions available)

Description

Alltech is supporting the IRS on the Customer Account Data Engine (CADE) project to incrementally design, develop and implement a data foundation that includes the creation of online transactional processing data stores of “record” for taxpayer returns and accounts. It will replace the existing tape-based master files and Integrated Data Retrieval System (IDRS) with new technology, new applications and new databases. CADE will allow employees to post transactions and update taxpayer accounts and return data from their desks. Updates will immediately be available to anyone who has authorized access to data and will provide a complete, timely and accurate account of the taxpayer’s information. Taxpayers will be removed from the master files as they are added to the modernized systems. Over several years, the master files and the IDRS will shrink as CADE grows.

In support of the above activities, the selected individuals will use their expertise in physical design and development to implement the physical designs for CADE systems.

Qualified candidates will participate as C++ Programmers in the development of an IRS conversion project which is the system of record for US taxpayers.  The programming activities include using C++ on a mainframe computer to implement financial applications programs in accordance with object-oriented designs produced using the Rational tool suite.  The developers will also be responsible for developing operations and interface.

Required

• Candidates must be either Permanent Residents or Citizens of the US and local (or willing to relocate to the Washington DC metro area

• At minimum, 3 years of C++ programming experience

• Object-oriented design experience, preferably using UML and Rational

• Requirements-Based Software Development

• Write System Design, Operations and Interface Documents

• IBM mainframe experience

• Able to work in a team environment

• Able to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing

• Familiarity with MS Office tools

Desired

• IBM CICS or equivalent transaction processing product

• IBM MQ Series or equivalent messaging product

• MVS JCL, Procs, Support Tools (e.g., Endevor, JCL Checkers)
